Candy Container

I picked up a container at the Target Dollar Spot a few weeks ago.  It is cute but I don't really know what kind of game to create for it.  If you can make a suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

  1. I bought the same container, and I was planning on doing a probability lesson with leftover Halloween candy. :) Good luck finding something that strikes your fancy!

  2. I would make some kind of motor game out of it. Either tossing things into it...or better yet...using tongs to pick up something off a table and then trying to drop it from a standing position into the container on the floor. You could also do guessing activities. How many peices of different kind of candies do they think will fit in it. Then charting their guesses. You could also just put it out in the room and see where they take it and what they do with it.

  3. You could do a sight word game! Find some cute candy clipart, put your sight words on the clip art and the kids draw out a piece of "candy" and read it, they can keep it. If the draw out a "dentist" card, they have to put all their candy back in the container! =) Just an idea! =) hehe

(You could even put real candy in it and at the beginning of the year have the kids "read" the wrapper! That will get them excited about reading in the beginning of the year!)

  4. Thank for all of the great ideas! I think I know what I am going to do now :)
